GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  THE PURPOSE OF THIS MARADMIN IS TO ANNOUNCE THE SHORTAGE AND CRITICAL NEED FOR INSTRUCTORS AT THE STAFF NONCOMMISSIONED OFFICERS ACADEMY (SNCOA).
2.  THE MARINE CORPS MUST PROVIDE ENLISTED MARINES TO SERVE AS INSTRUCTORS AT INSTALLATIONS THROUGHOUT THE MARINE CORPS.  BASED ON A RECENT REVIEW OF MARINE CORPS BILLETS THAT REQUIRE AN ACADEMY INSTRUCTOR, THE SPECIAL DUTY ASSIGNMENT (SDA) SECTION (MMEA-85) IS SEEKING APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING ANTICIPATED VACANCIES:

3.  THERE MAY BE ADDITIONAL BILLETS AVAILABLE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS MARADMIN.  THE ADDITIONAL BILLETS WILL RESULT FROM THOSE MARINES CURRENTLY AT THE ACADEMIES WHO ARE SELECTED FOR PROMOTION FROM THE FY10 MASTER SERGEANT/FIRST SERGEANT PROMOTION BOARD.
4.  IN ADDITION TO THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS CONTAINED IN THE REFERENCE, MARINES WHO MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA ARE PREFERRED:
    A.  REGULAR ACTIVE DUTY MARINES IN THE GRADE OF SERGEANT THROUGH MASTER SERGEANT.
    B.  COMPLETED SDA.
    C.  POSSESS A MINIMUM GT OF 100.
    D.  POSSESS A CURRENT FIRST CLASS PFT SCORE AT TIME OF SUBMISSION.
    E.  SERVED A MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS TIME ON STATION AT ESTIMATED DATE OF DEPARTURE IF SELECTED (WAIVERABLE TO 2 YEARS BASED UPON THE NEEDS OF THE MARINE CORPS).
    F.  COMPLETED RESIDENT PME FOR CURRENT GRADE.
5.  RESTRICTIONS:
    A.  MARINES SERVING AT AN OVERSEAS LOCATION WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE PRESCRIBED OVERSEAS TOUR LENGTH PRIOR TO BEING SELECTED/ASSIGNED TO A CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES (CONUS) BASED ACADEMY.
    B.  MARINES SELECTED FOR THIS PROGRAM MUST COMPLETE A 2-YEAR TOUR REQUIREMENT PRIOR TO TRANSFERRING TO THE FMCR.
    C.  MARINES MUST BE WILLING TO ACCEPT ASSIGNMENT TO ANY MCC LISTED AS A VACANCY IN THIS MARADMIN.
6.  ALL APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT A SPECIAL DUTY ASSIGNMENT REQUEST VIA THE TOTAL FORCE RETENTION SYSTEM (TFRS) TO INCLUDE THE SNCOA SCREENING GUIDE, AFTER BEING SCREENED BY A DEPUTY DIRECTOR AT THEIR LOCAL ACADEMY.  LOCAL DEPUTY DIRECTORS CAN SCREEN FOR ASSIGNMENT TO ALL ACADEMIES.  UNIT CAREER PLANNERS HAVE ACCESS TO THE TFRS PROGRAM.
7.  THE COMPLETE PACKAGE MUST BE SUBMITTED IAW THE INSTRUCTIONS CONTAINED IN THE REFERENCE AND FORWARDED TO CMC (MMEA-85) VIA THE PARENT COMMAND.
    A.  COMMANDING OFFICERS WILL ENSURE THAT EACH APPLICATION IS CAREFULLY REVIEWED AND THAT ALL REQUIRED INFORMATION IS INCLUDED.
    B.  MARINES MUST LIST IN ORDER OF PRECEDENCE (1-6) THE BILLETS FOR WHICH THEY ARE APPLYING.
8.  COMMANDING OFFICERS, SERGEANTS MAJOR, AND CAREER PLANNERS ARE DIRECTED TO DISSEMINATE THE CONTENTS OF THIS MARADMIN TO ALL ELIGIBLE MARINES WITHIN THEIR COMMAND.
9.  THIS MARADMIN IS NOT APPLICABLE TO THE MARINE CORPS RESERVE.
