GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  ON BEHALF OF ALL MARINES, I AM PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT THIS NOVEMBER MARKS THE 18TH ANNUAL CELEBRATION OF MILITARY FAMILY MONTH.  THIS ANNUAL OBSERVANCE SPONSORED BY THE ARMED SERVICES YMCA, HIGHLIGHTS AND HONORS THE FAMILIES OF ALL MILITARY PERSONNEL.
2.  DURING THIS PAST DECADE AT WAR, OUR MARINE CORPS FAMILY HAS CONSISTENTLY DEMONSTRATED THEIR RESILIENCY AND ENDURING COMMITMENT THROUGH EXTRAORDINARY SERVICE AND SACRIFICE.  THEIR REMARKABLE CONTRIBUTIONS TO OUR MISSION, EVIDENT BY THEIR CONTINUOUS ENTHUSIASM AND FIDELITY, ARE A CONSTANT SOURCE OF MOTIVATION TO ALL.  OUR COMMITMENT TO KEEPING FAITH WITH MARINES, SAILORS AND THEIR FAMILIES INCLUDES PROVIDING SUPPORT WHEREVER POSSIBLE AND TAKING SPECIAL TIME THIS NOVEMBER TO RECOGNIZE THE SERVICE AND SACRIFICE OF OUR MILITARY FAMILIES.
3.  BONNIE AND I COMMEND THE CONTINUED DEVOTION OF MARINE CORPS FAMILIES AROUND THE GLOBE.  WE JOIN A GRATEFUL NATION IN EXTENDING OUR APPRECIATION TO OUR FAMILIES AND ENCOURAGE COMMANDERS TO PROMOTE AND PARTICIPATE IN APPROPRIATE SPECIAL EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES IN RECOGNITION OF MILITARY FAMILY MONTH.
