GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. This MARADMIN announces the 2017 Joint Women’s Leadership Symposium (JWLS) from 15-16 June 2017 at the Hilton Norfolk, The Main in Norfolk, at 100 E. Main St., Norfolk, VA 23510.
2. The Sea Service Leadership Association (SSLA) hosts JWLS and is dedicated to providing professional development through networking, education, and mentorship of women from all three maritime armed forces – the United States Navy, the Marine Corps, and the Coast Guard. This year’s theme, “SSLA 30 Years Celebrating:  Charting Your Course, Navigating Your Future” will offer opportunities for personal and professional development.
3. Marine Corps funded participation for this conference has been approved within a limited scope. The Marine Corps will sponsor sixty (60) members’ conference/registration fees only. Commanders may authorized travel and per diem utilizing command’s funding. The Major Megan McClung award recipient will have the conference/registration fee and all travel fully funded by CMC (MPE). Local travel is authorized for members in the local area. All Marine Corps funded participation will be coordinated through the Equal Opportunity and Diversity Management (MPE) Branch.
