GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Situation.  The FY17 4th MAW Annual Recruiting and Retention Road Show will be conducted from 19-23 June at designated commands.  All enlisted and officer Marines interested in reserve opportunities with 4th MAW units are highly encouraged to attend and should view the visit as an opportunity for professional development and education.  There will be a Question and Answer session after each brief.
2.  Mission.  Reserve Continuation and Transition Branch (RCT), Reserve Affairs, in conjunction with the 4th MAW Recruiting and Retention (R2) representatives will conduct recruiting and retention briefs and interviews at designated locations in order to inform transitioning Marines about Marine Corps Reserve opportunities, encourage them towards service in the Selected Marine Corps Reserve (SMCR), discuss current bonuses based on the Military Occupational Specialty for all Marines, and travel reimbursement.  The target population includes first and second term enlisted Marines who will be leaving the Active Component, non-career designated officers, and officers considering resignation who are interested in reserve opportunities within 4th MAW units.  In addition, unit leaders, Career Planners, and Prior Service Recruiters are encouraged to attend in order to gain reserve career information that may be useful when providing career counseling to Marines.
3.  Execution.
   a.  Concept of Operations.  RCT and 4th MAW R2 will conduct group briefings and individual counselings per the following schedule:
        (1) Site:  MCAS Cherry Point, NC, Location Jerry Marvel Training and Education Building 4335.
            (a) Date:  19 June 2017.
            (b) Briefs:  0800-0900, 1130-1230, 1530-1630.
            (c) Interviews/counseling:  0700-1630.
        (2) Site:  MCAS New River, NC. Location: New River Officers Club.
            (a) Date:  20 June 2017.
            (b) Briefs:  0800-0900, 1130-1230, 1530-1630.
            (c) Interviews/counseling:  0700-1630.
        (3) Site:  MCB Camp Pendleton, Location MCAS Camp Pendleton Station Classroom
            (a) Date:  21-22 June 2017.

            (c) Interviews/counseling:  1400-1630, 21 June 2017 and 0700-1630, 22 June 2017.

    b.  Coordinating Instructions.  RCT will contact those Marines approaching their End of Active Service date to ensure the transitional population receives notice of these command visits.  4th MAW R2 will contact unit commands and prospective individuals to ensure unit leaders receive notice of these command visits.
4.  Administration and Logistics.  On-site briefs are welcome to all who wish to attend.  Counseling appointments should be scheduled in advance with the designated POCs.  Walk-in counseling appointments are also welcome, but may be subject to time constraints.
