GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Purpose.  This MARADMIN coordinates the submission of nominations for the FY17 CMC EOA of the Year Award.
2.  Background.  To provide recognition for performance that reflects exceptional leadership, management/organizational skills, devotion to duty, and initiative in support as a special staff member for  their commanding general or commander, the Equal Opportunity and Diversity Management Branch (MPE) will convene the FY17 EOA of the Year Award board, on or about 10 July 2017.  Marines nominated for the EOA of the Year will have demonstrated a consistently high level of performance that significantly and positively impacted their  commanding general or commander's equal opportunity programs.
3.  Applications must be submitted to the MPE POC no later than 30 June 2017.  Selection results will be published by a MARADMIN message.  One nominee from each of the following commands may be nominated:  MARFORCOM, MARFORPAC, MARFORRES, MCICOM and TECOM.
4.  All nominees must meet the following criteria: waivers will not be considered:
     a.  Active serving EOA with current AMOS/BMOS of 0147.
     b.  Must have completed the required Professional Military Education (PME) for their current grade.
     c.  Must display a consistently high level of performance that significantly and positively impacts mission accomplishment.
     d.  Must meet all reenlistment requirements.
5.  All packages must contain the following information at a minimum:
     a.  Nomination letter from the command that includes a resume of qualifications and the significant contributions of the EOA.
     b.  A standard digital promotion photograph of the nominee.
     c.  A one page biography.
     d.  Copy of nominee's Basic Individual Record and Basic Training Record.
6.  An example of all required documents is available for download via TFRS.
7.  The Marine selected as the EOA of the Year will be recognized during the EOA Conference.
8.  The date and location for the awards ceremony will be forthcoming in future correspondence.
