GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  This MARADMIN is published to clarify the requirement for Marines to attain the Primary Military Occupational Specialty (PMOS) of 0369 that went into effect on 1 October 2015 in accordance with reference (a).
2.  Once a Marine is selected to the rank of staff sergeant, they are eligible to attend the Infantry Unit Leaders Course (IULC).  Per reference (a), Marines must attend IULC to obtain the 0369 PMOS.  Commanders are highly encouraged to enroll their Marines in IULC as soon as they have been selected for promotion to staff sergeant.
3.  Reference (a) provides the authority to award staff sergeants the 0369 PMOS that previously held the PMOS of 0311, 0331, 0341, 0351, or 0352 with a date of rank prior to 1 October 2015.
4.  Marines eligible for promotion consideration to the rank of gunnery sergeant that do not have the 0369 PMOS will not be eligible for promotion consideration and will be deleted from the promotion board population.
5.  Marines with 24 or more months time in grade as a staff sergeant that have not completed IULC, will require a CG endorsement for further retention.
6.  This MARADMIN is applicable to the active component only.  PP&O, TECOM, and M&RA are actively working to develop an equivalent school to support the Reserve Component Infantry Marines.
7.  Release authorized by LtGen B. A. Brilakis, Deputy Commandant, Manpower and Reserve Affairs, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps.//
