GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The Deputy Commandant for Combat Development and Integration has approved the electronic distribution and review of the final draft of MCRP 2-10A.3, Open Source Intelligence.  MCRP 2-10A.3, Open Source Intelligence, dated 30 June 2017, is available for download via the United States Marine Corps doctrine website at https:(slant)(slant)www.doctrine.usmc.mil.
2.  Background.  MCRP 2-10A.3, Open Source Intelligence, is a dual-Service publication that will introduce the fundamentals of OSINT as an intelligence discipline and discuss the role it plays in the intelligence process and its overall support to military operations.  This publication will serve as the first doctrinal reference for Marine Corps application of OSINT and will link evolving terminology with the US Army.
3.  Coordinating instructions.  Reference (a) details steps required to request publication hard copies, however, this publication will be disseminated via electronic distribution only unless commanders submit compelling needs justification for printed copies.  Units requiring print allocations must follow procedures identified in reference (a), paragraph 4a(2).  For Marine Corps Publication Distribution System (MCPDS) identification purposes, the publication control number is 144 000278 00.
4.  This MARADMIN is applicable to Marine Corps total force.
