GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Situation.  Joint-service professional development opportunities for enlisted Marines are limited.  However, Marine Corps University, with assistance from the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, has established a long-term relationship with the Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy (AFSNCOA) resulting in a controlled number of seats for the Marine Corps.  This academy is located at Maxwell Air Force Base (AFB), Alabama.  The AFSNCOA is an intensive six-week course comprised of the following core areas:  Military Professional, Joint Warfighter, Operational Manager, Senior Communicator, and Combined Operations.  During the course, students will be required to read and write extensively, and speak publicly.
2.  Mission.  The Director, Senior Enlisted Academy will manage the quotas and coordinate the attendance of qualified Marines to the AFSNCOA.
3.  Execution.  No command allocations have been established for the AFSNCOA.  The number of allocations the Marine Corps can submit per class is listed directly following each class number in parenthesis.

3.A.  Funding is available through Training and Education Command (TECOM) Worldwide Travel (WWT).  Deputy Director, Senior Enlisted Academy will coordinate student funding for the course through TECOM.  A rental vehicle is encouraged, but will not be funded by WWT.  The students parent command is responsible for rental car funding.
3.B.  Major subordinate commands may nominate Marines in the ranks of Master Sergeant and First Sergeant to attend the course.  Nominees must be submitted through the Marines Marine Forces (MARFOR) G-3 in coordination with the respective MARFOR Sergeant Major.  Nominations will only be accepted from the MARFOR commands.
3.C.  Course Prerequisites.
3.C.1.  Nominees must have completed the new Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education II, accessed at https:(slant)(slant)jkodirect.jten.mil/.
3.C.2.  Nominated First Sergeants must have completed resident First Sergeants Course and the First Sergeant/Master Sergeant Regional Seminar.  Nominated Master Sergeants must have completed First Sergeant/Master Sergeant Regional Seminar.  The respective course completion codes must be reflected in Marine Corps Total Force System (MCTFS) prior to student nomination.
4.  Administration and Logistics
4.A.  The following information must be submitted for consideration of attendance to the AFSNCOA.
4.A.1.  Course number.
4.A.2.  Last name, First name, Middle Initial, Electronic Data Interchange Personel Identifier, and Military Occupational Specialty.
4.A.3.  Grade and date of rank.
4.A.4.  End of current contract.
4.A.5.  MCTFS confirmation of the prerequisites listed in paragraph 3.C.1.

4.A.7.  Current photo in the Service Charlie uniform.
4.B.  MARFOR G-3s will submit nominees directly to the Director, Senior Enlisted Academy:  scott.hamm@usmc.mil or Deputy Director, Senior Enlisted Academy:  mark.jerry@usmc.mil, and mcu_sepme@usmc.mil.
4.C.  All nominations must be received by the submission deadline in paragraph 3 for the respective course number the nominee desires to attend.
4.D.  Deputy Director, Senior Enlisted Academy will coordinate student registration with AFSNCOA.
4.E.  Lodging.  All attendees are required to stay at the Bachelor Enlisted Quarters, Maxwell AFB, Alabama.
4.F.  Reporting.  All approved students will check-in on the respective report date to the lodging office at Gunter Annex, Building 1017, Maxwell AFB, Alabama.  Attendees will receive further reporting guidance upon check-in.
4.G.  Orders.  Parent commands are responsible for proper orders preparation.  Indicate orders are reporting orders, government quarters available, and government messing is not available.
4.H.  Uniform requirement.  Will be provided via separate correspondence.
