AMPN/REF A IS MARADMIN 544/17, ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE EXIT AND MILESTONE LONGITUDINAL SURVEY PROGRAM.//
GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  PURPOSE.  The purpose of this MARADMIN is to provide guidance to commands and installations regarding access to and display of the Exit and Milestone Longitudinal Survey (EMLS) Program poster.
2.  BACKGROUND.  The Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) is interested in reasons Marines choose to stay or leave the Marine Corps.  The EMLS Program was developed to track changes in Marines opinions and perceptions over time.  Participation is voluntary, but highly encouraged, as the results of this program will be used to influence Marine Corps policy.  Additional background and guidance for the EMLS program is located in reference (a).
3.  EXECUTION.  A multi-pronged communications plan ensures eligible Marines are aware of the EMLS Program and gives them the opportunity to have their opinions heard.  In addition to Marine Online (MOL) and social media notifications, an EMLS Program poster has been developed for commands and installations to post in their common read areas.  Command and installation representatives can request the poster through their installation Communication Strategy and Operations Offices (CommStrat).  The poster may be downloaded and printed from the Defense Video and Imagery Distribution System (DVIDS) website at https:(slash)(slash)www.dvidshub.net/image/3831618/exit-and-milestone-longitudinal-survey.  The poster should be printed no larger than 18" x 24".
4.  The POC for the EMLS posters is Maj K.A. Hogan, surveys@usmc.mil or at 703-784-9370.
