GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Purpose.  The purpose of this MARADMIN is to, migrate the position of HQMC Director of Psychological Health (DPH) from HQMC Health Services to HQMC G-10 Force Preservation Directorate.
2.  Background.  “Psychological health” is here defined as all factors contributing to holistic wellness, well-being, and performance, including the domains of mental and behavioral health and human performance optimization.
3.  In accordance with References (a), (b), and (c), the HQMC DPH serves as the Marine Corps' Health Science officer, coordinating two-way communication between Marine Corps leaders, Department of Defense (DOD), Department of the Navy (DON), other federal agencies, and health scientists to ensure that the Marine Corps has access to the most current evidence-based practices for optimizing the psychological health of total force.
4.  HQMC DPH shall review all existing and emerging Marine Corps policies, programs, and initiatives regarding psychological health and readiness; advise commanders regarding current evidence-based practices; and coordinate psychological health policies, programs, and initiatives within the Marine Corps and the DON, across DOD and other service branches, in accordance with ref c.
5.  HQMC DPH reports directly to the Executive Director, HQMC Force Preservation Directorate (G-10), and indirectly to the Medical Officer of the Marine Corps (Director, Health Services).
6.  HQMC DPH represents the Marine Corps on the DOD Psychological Health and Readiness Council, described in ref b.
