GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  ON BEHALF OF MARINES ALL AROUND THE WORLD, WE OFFER OUR WARMEST CONGRATULATIONS TO NAVAL ENGINEERS ON YOUR ANNIVERSARIES.  WE ARE PROUD TO JOIN YOU IN CELEBRATING THE RICH HERITAGE OF NAVAL ENGINEERS AND SEABEES THAT BUILD AND FIGHT ALONGSIDE OUR MARINES IN COMBAT.
2.  NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND AND THE CIVIL ENGINEER CORPS HAVE PROVIDED CONSISTENT AND EXCEPTIONAL ENGINEERING SUPPORT TO OUR FORWARD OPERATING BASES AND INSTALLATIONS ALL AROUND THE WORLD.  WE ARE ETERNALLY GRATEFUL TO THOSE OF YOU THAT REPEATEDLY AND SELFLESSLY VOLUNTEER TO DEPLOY IN HARMS WAY, PROVIDING ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES AND SUPPORT TO FORWARD DEPLOYED MARINES.  FOR MORE THAN A DECADE, DEPLOYED NAVAL CONSTRUCTION FORCES MADE A CRUCIAL DIFFERENCE IN REBUILDING IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN, WHILE PROVIDING MARINES WITH VASTLY IMPROVED LIVING CONDITIONS IN HARSH AND AUSTERE ENVIRONMENTS.
3.  AS YOU CELEBRATE YOUR PROUD LEGACY AND MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS, IT IS FITTING TO PAUSE AND REFLECT UPON THE MANY SEABEES WHO HAVE MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE IN THE DEFENSE OF OUR NATION.  MARINES EVERYWHERE SALUTE YOUR EFFORTS AND WELCOME EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO WORK AND FIGHT ALONGSIDE YOU ON THE NAVY-MARINE CORPS TEAM.
4.  CONGRATULATIONS AND SEMPER FIDELIS!  JAMES F. AMOS, GENERAL, U.S. MARINE CORPS, COMMANDANT OF THE MARINE CORPS//
