GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Purpose.  The purpose of this MARADMIN is to issue guidance on using the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center (AMRDEC) Safe Access File Exchange (SAFE) located at (https:(slash)(slash)safe.amrdec.army.mil/) and the current way forward for a long term solution.
2.  Background.  The AMRDEC SAFE site was disabled due to an unspecified issue in CY 2018.  Through the diligent action of members of DoD CIO’s staff, the site has been re-activated for a period of six months while the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) works to develop and deploy an enterprise wide solution.
3.  Actions.  On release of this message:
3.a.  All Marines are authorized to use the AMRDEC SAFE site to securely transfer Marine Corps data, to include PII, IAW the site’s posted rules for use.
3.b.  All Marines are authorized to continue to use any of the methods proposed in ref (d).
4.  This guidance will remain in effect until superseded by the announcement of the forthcoming enterprise wide solution from DISA.
5.  Applicability.  This message is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force and to all contractors who support the Marine Corps.
