GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  This MARADMIN announces the implementation of the Marine Corps Reserve Exit Survey.  The purpose of the survey is to capture the perspective of Marines who transfer out of a drilling status to pursue other opportunities.  This information will assist Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC) and Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) by identifying the factors that influence retention and attrition within the Selected Marine Corps Reserve (SMCR).  Marines are highly encouraged to participate in this survey.
2.  Target Population.  Marines with a Reserve Component Code of KA or K4 and subsequently transfer out of a drilling status.
3.  Methodology.  Effective 1 October 2019, the survey will be available online at go.max.gov/dod/ReserveExit.  The survey can be accessed from any computer or mobile device.
4.  Unit Commanders.  Your support is critical to the success of this survey.  The survey will take approximately ten minutes to complete and the results will have a direct impact on HQMC policy initiatives.  Per the reference, Marines requesting voluntary transfer from a drilling status must be approved by the Commanding Officer or Officer in Charge.  The following information will be included as part of the prescribed unit transfer request document:  “I have been informed of the voluntary Reserve Exit Survey which can be completed online at go.max.gov/dod/ReserveExit”.  Marines will be afforded the opportunity to complete the survey when checking out of their SMCR unit.
5.  Release authorized by Major General H. G. Pratt, Director, Reserve Affairs Division.//
