GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. This MARADMIN solicits applications for the Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) Equal Opportunity Advisor (EOA) program.
2. EOAs serve as a special staff member to the commanding officers and provide commanders with technical assistance on implementing Military Equal Opportunity (MEO) policies, programs and procedures.
3. Marines selected for assignment as EOAs will attend an eleven week EOA course at the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida during FY22.
3.a. Due to COVID-19 some classes will be conducted remotely and students will receive instructions upon class assignment. Class dates are still being scheduled for FY22. Students will be notified 60-90 days prior to arrival via separate correspondence.

5. The following vacancy is a special billet assignment and must be filled by a current or prior EOA. EOA's submitting for the vacancy will follow same submittal solicitation procedures.

6. Individuals submitting for an EOA billet must meet the following basic criteria in accordance with reference (A):
6.a. Marine must be a Staff Sergeant through Master Gunnery Sergeant (due to billet requirements, First Sergeants and Sergeants Major are not eligible).
6.b. Marine must not have any adverse fitness reports in grade.
6.c. Marine must not have any history of prohibited activities and conduct or sexual assault allegations.
6.d. Marine must have completed at least 24 months time on station upon class graduation and execution of PCS orders.
6.e. Marine must be able to extend or reenlist to meet minimum of 36 months obligated service from the date of graduation from EOA course. Request for separation from the service while serving within the obligated active service will not receive favorable consideration.
7. Applicants may receive the Commanding Officer's Screening/Interview Guide from their regionally located EOA or Career Planner.
8. Interested applicants, should submit packages as soon as possible to be considered for a September 2021 and January 2022 class. Completed packages must be submitted electronically using the Special Duty Assignment/EOA Duty RELM request in the Total Force Retention System (TFRS) to CMC (MMEA-25) via the normal RELM routing chain. Unit Career Planners have access to the TFRS program. MMEA will conduct a board prior to each class to consider qualified applicants to fill projected vacancies. The enclosures to the RELM will contain the following:
8.a. EOA recommendation letter with enclosure 1 (Prospective Equal Opportunity Advisor interview) conducted by a current actively serving EOA.
8.b. Commanding Officer's Screening Guide.
8.c. EOA Applicant Personal Statement (why I want to be an EOA).
