GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Purpose.  To announce the winner of the Marine Corps annual Commandant of the Marine Corps sponsored poster contest in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM).
2.  Background.  In April 2021, the Department of Defense marked its 17th annual observance of SAAPM with the ongoing theme “Protecting Our People Protects Our Mission.”  This theme emphasizes hat every Service Member, regardless of rank, can encourage behaviors that foster a climate of dignity and respect, and in doing so, help ensure our readiness to complete the mission.
3.  Congratulations to Lance Corporal Ezekieljay Correa from Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island for his entry’s selection as the winner of the 2021 SAAPM Poster Contest.  The winning entry title is, “The Scars of Sexual Assault” and displays the words, “The scars they leave can last forever.”
4.  Congratulations to the first runner up, Staff Sergeant Victoria Poland, and second runner up, Corporal Antonio Sanchez.
5.  All participants are commended for their talent and commitment to the Marine Corps Sexual Assault Prevention and Response program.
6.  The winners will be featured on Marine Corps websites and social media platforms.
7.  This MARADMIN is cancelled 31 May 2022.
