GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The purpose of this MARADMIN is to publish course dates for the fiscal year 2017 Senior Officer, Senior Enlisted, Legal Officer, and Legal Clerk courses.
2.  The curriculum for these courses provides familiarization with the Uniform Code of Military Justice, administrative fact-finding bodies, administrative separation procedures, the courts-martial process.  Various diem costs will be the responsibility of individual commands.
3.  Eligibility.  Senior Officer Course (SOC):  Commanding officers, executive officers, and officers in charge.  Other officers, grade O-4 and above, who have a mission essential need for this training may be assigned on a space available basis.  Please note that the SOC admin and check in begins at 0730 on day one and finishes no later than 1700 on the final day.  Please plan your travel arrangements accordingly.  Legal Officer Course (LOC):  NON-PMOS 4402 Marines, active duty, company grade officers (O-1 to O-3) in the Marine Corps who perform the duties of a unit legal officer.  Warrant officers and enlisted Marines in the grade E-7 and above who have a mission essential need for this training may be assigned on a space available basis.  Legal Clerk Course (LCC):  NON-PMOS 4421 Marines, active duty, enlisted Marines (E-2 to E-6) in the Marine Corps who perform the duties of a unit legal clerk.  Submissions for the legal clerk course for Marines must be submitted by their SNCO.  Senior Enlisted Legal Course (SELC):  Senior Enlisted Advisors E-8-E-9, but E7s may apply on a space available basis.
4.  To register for these courses contact the Navy registrars via email at gerald.gallant(at)navy.mil for courses in Newport, RI, laurinda.reese(at)navy.mil for courses in Norfolk, VA, or yniol.cruz(at)navy.mil for courses in San Diego, CA no later than six weeks prior to the date the course convenes.  Email requests must include the name, date, and location of the course requesting in the subject line and the following student information in the body of the e-mail:  rank, full name, billet, DOD ID number, phone number, and email address.  Phone requests are not accepted.  Email requests will be processed in the order in which they are received.

9.  Quota cancellations.  Cancellations received less than five work days prior to the class convening date may result in a no-show report for the command due to lost training opportunities for other units.  Quotas must be cancelled via email to the school registrar.
