GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  On behalf of all Marines, I am pleased to congratulate the men and women of the United States Air Force as you mark your 69th anniversary on 18 September.
2.  For nearly seven decades, our nation has maintained the most capable and most advanced Air Force in the world.  Since becoming a separate service in 1947, America’s airmen have consistently provided global reach, global power, and global engagement in support of our nation’s security.  Your service has unfailingly been marked by courage, valor, and selfless sacrifice.  Marines take great pride in serving alongside you.
3.  As you celebrate your illustrious heritage, you have the deepest respect of all Marines.  We join you in honoring your rich legacy.
