GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  THE COMMANDANT OF THE MARINE CORPS CONGRATULATES THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUALS AND UNITS FOR BEING SELECTED AS THE RECIPIENTS OF THE 2011 UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS MOTOR TRANSPORT ASSOCIATION AWARDS FOR THE CATEGORIES INDICATED.  AS DELINEATED IN REF B, THE MT ASSOCIATION CONVENES AN ANNUAL AWARDS BOARD TO VET THE NOMINEES AND SELECT AWARD RECIPIENTS.  ALL THOSE NOMINATED ARE DESERVING OF CONGRATULATIONS AND RATE SPECIAL RECOGNITION.  ALL AWARDS WILL BE PRESENTED AT THE ANNUAL MOTOR TRANSPORT ASSOCIATION DINNER AT THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE MARINE CORPS IN TRIANGLE, VA, ON 3 APRIL 2012.

2.A. THE MT ASSOCIATION WILL COVER THE EXPENSE OF THE EVENT MEAL FOR ALL AWARD RECIPIENTS, PLUS ONE GUEST EACH.  MT ASSOCIATION WILL COVER THE EXPENSE OF THE EVENT MEAL FOR TWO COMMAND REPRESENTATIVES EACH FOR THE UNIT AWARD CATEGORIES.  AWARD WINNERS WILL CONTACT MR. 4.  AWARD RECIPIENTS AND/OR UNIT REPRESENTATIVES PLANNING TO ATTEND THE AWARDS BANQUET SHOULD ARRIVE AT NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE MARINE CORPS FOR SOCIAL HOUR WHICH COMMENCES AT 1800.  THE BANQUET AND AWARDS PRESENTATION WILL BEGIN PROMPLY AT 1900.  FAMILY AND GUESTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND, AND IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT THEY CONTACT THE MTA SECRETARY, MR. 6.  AS IDENTIFIED IN REF A, IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH AWARD WINNER'S PARENT COMMAND TO PROVIDE TAD FUNDING.

8.  THIS YEAR'S AWARD SELECTION PROCESS WAS AN ARDUOUS ONE, AND WHILE WE CAN HAVE ONLY ONE WINNER IN EACH CATEGORY, IT WAS APPARENT THAT ALL THOSE NOMINATED ARE DESERVING OF OUR RESPECT AND RATE SPECIAL RECOGNITION.  CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE NOMINEES.
