An Idaho Air National Guardsman has died of injuries received from a grenade attack on his tent in Kuwait on March 22.

Officials announced Maj. Gregory L. Stone died March 25 at a U.S. Army field hospital in Kuwait.

Stone had been serving as an air liaison officer with the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division at Camp Pennsylvania in northern Kuwait when the attack on his quarters took place. He was assigned to the 124th Air Support Operations Squadron here.

"Today, our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of Major Stone," said Brig. Gen. Gary Sayler, 124th Wing commander. "Major Stone upheld the finest traditions of the Air National Guard when he was called to active duty in February and sent to Kuwait to take part in Operation Iraqi Freedom."
