GENTEXT/RMKS/1.  THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS IS STEEPED IN TRADITION AND HAS A STRONG LEGACY OF SERVICE WHICH CONTINUES EVERYDAY THROUGH MARINE CORPS VOLUNTEERS. AS A NATION WE CELEBRATE NATIONAL VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK APRIL 12-18, 2015. IN RECOGNITION OF THIS CELEBRATION WE TAKE A MOMENT TO THANK MARINE CORPS VOLUNTEERS WHO GIVE THEIR TIME, TALENTS, AND SUPPORT WITH COMPASSION AND UNWAIVERING DEDICATION. MARINES, FAMILIES AND CIVILIAN VOLUNTEERS GIVE SELFLESS AND COUNTLESS HOURS TO THE MARINE CORPS AND THE LOCAL COMMUNITIES. THESE VOLUNTEER REPRESENT THE VERY BEST OF OUR NATION AND THE MARINE COPRS.
2.  TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK, I ENCOURAGE ALL COMMANDERS TO SAY THANK YOU TO OUR VOLUNTEERS AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO CONTINUE SERVING. TAKE THE TIME TO SUPPORT LOCAL EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES THAT RECOGNIZE VOLUNTEERS. THE UNWAVERING COMMITMENT VOLUNTEERS MAKE TO THE MARINE CORPS HAS A PROFOUND IMPACT ON OUR SERVICE AND THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. CONTINUE THIS LEGACY OF SERVICE BY DEMONSTRATING OUR APPRECIATION FOR ALL THEY HAVE DONE AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO.
