In an era when access to the Internet is instantaneous, expectations for speed, reliability, and flexibility of information continues to grow drastically.

The United States Marine Corps has landed on mobile devices with its official application, Marines Mobile, which puts the story of the Corps in the hands of users. The free app is designed for anyone who wants access to: news, press releases, videos, photos, Marine administrative messages, directives and orders and a social pulse which combines official Marine Corps social media feeds from Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr and Twitter all under one icon.

“So why open up six social media apps, and a web page to locate all your motivated Marine Corps news,” said Chiraqt a user, who left a review rating the app five stars out of five. “To be honest in a really good way I think this might be the only application that can say they want us [to] leave the app as quickly as possible because of how reliable and fast information is retrieved, in-and-out. Fast and dependable in order to be valuable, it’s obviously clear that was the goal.”

According to the Pew Research Center, a think tank based in Washington, which researches social issues and demographic trends, 91 percent of American adults own a cell phone and many use the devices for much more than communication. In their most recent nationally representative survey, they checked in on some of the most popular activities people perform on their cell phones: Texting, accessing the Internet and sending and receiving email remain popular.

Fifty Percent of cell phone owners download apps, which increased from 22% in 2009.” With more people becoming dependent on cellular use, Marines Mobile focuses on its core utilities to provide an organized app providing the user relevant Marine Corps information wherever, whenever and faster.

“One of the best apps I got in 2015… A must get app for anyone who is interested in the Marines!!!,” stated username th3marine, another satisfied customer, who left a review rating the app five stars out of five.

Marines Mobile is available in the Google Play Store and Apple Store. Performance of the application is critical. So if there are any problems or issues, users are encouraged to leave a comment in the review section.
