U.S. Marines with Black Sea Rotational Force 14 from Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, fire a tube-launched, optically-tracked, wire-guided missile during a joint live-fire exercise with Latvians and Estonians at a range near Camp Adazi, Latvia, April 16, 2014. This is the 11th iteration of the Summer Shield exercise, a joint staff planning and live-fire maneuver event designed to enhance the NATO force’s capacity and capability to integrate combined arms and maneuver at the battalion and brigade level. It also increases partner capacity, promotes regional stability, and enhances Latvian, Lithuanian, Estonian, and U.S. interoperability as NATO allies. (Official Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
