Concertina wire is set around a weather observation compound used by meteorological and oceanographic forecasters in support of Exercise Valiant Shield 2014 Sept. 15 at Tinian’s West Field Sept. 15 at Tinian’s West Field. The meteorological satellite system, front left, is used to pull geostationary and polar orbital satellite images. The meteorological mobile facility replacement next generation system, Humvee, trailer and radar, serves as their main hub while deployed. The same equipment was used in the Republic of Korea during Marine Expeditionary Force Exercise 14 and Ssang Yong 2014 and in the Republic of the Philippines during Exercise Balikatan 2014.
