Lance Cpl. Sage Trevor begins his swing during the Red Ribbon golf tournament at The Legends, Oct. 17. The free tournament promoted awareness of the negative effects drugs can have on individuals and communities for Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week is held each year in honor of Enrique Camarena, a Marine and drug enforcement agent who was killed in 1985 while reducing the amount of drugs trafficked into the United States. The theme this year is “Love yourself, be drug free,” and encourages community unity against drug abuse.
