Col. Siale F. Diro, the Chief of Force Preparation, Papua New Guinea Defense Force, speaks during the opening ceremony of a bilateral military exchange held between the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit and the PNGDF at Taurama Barracks, held as part of a theater security cooperation engagement, April 15. In order to prepare the PNGDF to support local police at upcoming national-level events, the Marines and Sailors with the 11th MEU will host bilateral training pertinent to civil authority operations, such as: entry control and vehicle check points, escalation of force tactics, personnel searches, urban patrolling and VIP escorts.
