Lance Cpl. Kyle Ruud, second platoon, Guard Company, Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., shoots an M1014 shotgun during a training exercise at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., Jan. 30. The Marines conduct monthly, advanced CMP live-fire exercises in Quantico. The training evolutions maintain their high levels of proficiency with the M4 carbine, M9 handgun and M1014 shotgun. The Guard Marines fire on the move while engaging multiple targets, and utilize stress drills to sharpen their tactics.
