Seaman Damon Oda-Kauhola prepares to place an IV for Petty Officer 3rd Class Cory Richards Jan. 6 in a medical tent at Combined Arms Training Center Camp Fuji, Japan. Corpsman must undergo an additional, more rigorous training program that prepares them to perform their duties under more strenuous conditions to better support the operational forces. Oda-Kauhola and Richards are corpsmen with 3rd Battalion 5th Marine Regiment; currently assigned to 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force under the unit deployment program. Oda-Kauhola is a Kapolei, Hawaii, native. Richards is an Amsterdam, N.Y., native.
