Erica Wallace, the widow of Sgt. David Wallace III, who was killed in action during Operation Enduring Freedom, comforts her daughter Brookelyn Wallace after she presented Lt. Col. Gary McCullar, the battalion commander of 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, with the dog tag of Wallace during the Sapper 50 memorial run at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, June 4, 2016. The run was to honor the 29 fallen CEB Marines who gave their lives during Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Brookelyn carried her father’s dog tag the final mile of the run and participated in the closing ceremony by presenting her father’s dog tag.
