Sgt. Matthew George, left, and Cpl. Austin Hardin inspect the dish of the Tropospheric Scatter Microwave Radio Terminal, or the AN/TRC-170, during the Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course 2-17 near Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz., April 26, 2017. The AN/TRC-170 has been utilized by the Marine Corps since the 1980’s and is used to transmit data, internet, phone and emails to a point target within 100 nautical miles. George and Hardin are both AN/TRC-170 operators assigned to Marine Wing Communications Squadron 28, Marine Air Control Group 28, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.
