Photo Essay – BLT 1/4 Marines keep consulate secure during JTFEX

This is a photo essay of Marines with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, based out of Camp Pendleton who were assigned to provide consulate security for a notional U.S. Consulate General during Joint Task Force Exercise 06, Jan. 13-25 aboard the U.S.S. Peleliu and throughout Camp Pendleton. Marines and sailors from Company A and Battery R provided consulate security under a training scenario in which the security situation in the notional country was becoming more and more dangerous. Terrorist violence was increasing, the local economy was in shambles and as result, food, water and medicine were becoming scarce.
