Crew chiefs engage targets during aerial gunnery training

Marines with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 166 (Reinforced), the aviation combat element of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, practiced aerial gunnery here March 29. Crew chiefs, flying in CH-53D Sea Stallion and CH-46 Sea Knight helicopters, engaged targets with .50 caliber heavy machine guns during the shoot. The training was part of the MEU’s larger marine air ground task force exercise taking part at numerous installations throughout the state.
