'Pride of the Pacific'

U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY - Battery K cannoneer crewman Cpl. Edwin Aguinaldo Jr. loads a 120mm mortar here Jan. 29 during field training. The battery provides artillery and indirect fire for Battalion Landing Team 3/1, the ground-combat element of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The unit is currently deployed as part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, a U.S. Central Command theater reserve force providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts here.
