1ST MED BN RECEIVES NEW LEADERSHIP:
On 30 July 2008, 1st Medical Battalion conducted a Change of Command. CDR Michael E. Eby, MSC, USN was relieved of his duties as the 1st Medical Battalion Commanding Officer and was reassigned to Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton, CA, where he will serve as the Director for Administration. CAPTAIN Thomas J. Sawyer, MSC, USN was appointed as the new 1st Medical Battalion Commanding Officer. CAPTAIN Sawyer is coming to 1st Medical Battalion from Field Medical Training Battalion, West, Marine Corps Training and Education Command.
