24th Marine Expeditionary Unit

For The Families

Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, USA - Spouses of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit

Greetings Families and Friends of the 24th MEU!

Family readiness is a combat multiplier to the MEU’s overall combat readiness. Whether during pre-deployment training or while deployed, family readiness is the ability of each Marine, Sailor and family to successfully balance life, career and mission events. Family readiness in the 24th MEU is all about connecting and looking out for each other.

A key to successful family readiness is being well informed, and the 24th MEU Family Readiness Program is designed to promote communication. I define family as all members of a Marine’s family and every Marine and Sailor regardless of rank or marital status will receive support from the 24th MEU Family Readiness Program. While the individual Marines and Sailors are responsible for their own family’s readiness, it is the responsibility of the 24th MEU Command Team to ensure that the Marines and Sailors have the tools necessary to successfully achieve family readiness and to continue through the Marine and Sailor’s deployment. Family readiness is all about connecting and looking out for each other and in doing so, the 24th MEU Command Team will work our hardest to:

• Maintain a network that provides information, help, referrals and support for our families
• Maintain an open and effective communication link between the CO and the families
• Assist families in finding and using available base and community resources
• Provide a non-threatening emotional support network during times of difficulty and/or crisis

Mrs. Ann Gasperini is the 24th MEU Family Readiness Officer and she assists the Command Team with the execution of our Family Readiness Program, which includes providing constant, consistent, professional and accurate communication to Marines, Sailors and families. Mrs. Gasperini is here to assist you in any way that she can. Do not hesitate to contact her with any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your continued support and Semper Fidelis.
