LtCol. Robert F. Revoir

Battalion Commander, 2d Reconnaissance

Battalion

Lieutenant Colonel Robert F. Revoir was born in Malone, New York, and after graduating from Franklin Academy High School in 1991, he attended Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont where he received his Bachelors of Arts Degree in International Studies.

 He enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve in 1992 and served with Bravo Company 1st Battalion, 25th Marines until 1995. In May 1995 he was commissioned, and after attending The Basic School for Officers, he received the MOS of Infantry Officer. His first duty station was 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 29 Palms, California where he served as Platoon Commander and Company Executive Officer of Delta Company until 1999.

 In July of 1999 LtCol Revoir attended the Navy Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center, Damn Neck, Virginia and received the 0202 Intelligence Officer MOS. Subsequently, he was assigned to IMEF as the Targeting Officer, PACOM Plans Officer, and CENTCOM Plans Officer until 2001.

In 2001, LtCol Revoir assumed command of HQ Company, 1st Intelligence Battalion. He deployed to Kuwait with the Battalion in support of Operation Southern Watch in October 2002 and transitioned into Operation Iraqi Freedom and the initial invasion of Iraq. During this time he was assigned command of 1st Counter-Intelligence Company, 1st Intelligence Battalion. He served in this billet for two back to back deployments for both OIF1 and OIF2 until 2004.

In 2005 he was assigned as an instructor at the Expeditionary Warfare School, Quantico, Virginia. He served at EWS until 2008 when he was selected to Marine Corps Command and Staff College where he earned a Masters Degree in Military Studies.

In 2009 LtCol Revoir was assigned to 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California, as the Operations Officer and Executive Officer. He served with the battalion through workup and deployment to Operation Enduring Freedom 10.1 in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. After the deployment he was assigned to the 1st Marine Division as the Division AC/S G2. In 2011, he was assigned to Intelligence Department Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington DC.

His personal awards include the Bronze Star with Combat Distinguishing Device, Purple Heart Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star in lieu 2nd award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold stars in lieu 3nd award, Combat Action Ribbon with gold star in lieu 2nd award and various other personal and unit awards.
