Commanding General, Commanding General, 2nd Marine Logistics Group

Maj. Gen. Michael G. Dana

Major General Dana was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in June of 1982 following graduation from Union College in Schenectady, New York.

   Following completion of the Basic School and Armor Officer Basic School, Lieutenant Dana was assigned to 2nd Tank Battalion and during this tour he deployed with Battalion Landing Team 1/8 to the Mediterranean. He reported to the Logistics Officers Basic School in January 1986 and was assigned as the Combat Cargo Officer aboard for USS Duluth (LPD-6). During this tour he deployed to the Western Pacific with Battalion Landing Team 1/9 embarked.

   In June of 1988 Captain Dana reported for duty as the S-4 Logistics Officer for 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines. During this tour he deployed with Battalion Landing Team 3/1 to the Western Pacific, Alaska, and Southwest Asia [Desert Storm]. After attending Amphibious Warfare School he returned to Camp Pendleton in June of 1992. As a company commander in 1st Landing Support Battalion, he deployed to Somalia for Operation Restore Hope in Somalia. Following company command, he served as the Operations Officer for 1st Landing Support Battalion.

   From June 1994-June 1996 Major Dana attended Marine Corps Command and Staff College and the School of Advanced Warfighting. Following school, he received orders to the Standing Joint Task Force (SJTF) at Camp Lejeune, N.C.; during this tour he served as a Plans Officer with the SFOR Theater Support Command in the Former Republic of Yugoslavia. Following the deactivation of the SJTF he served as the II MEF G-4 Operations Officer until July 1999.

   From August 1999 to May 2000 Lieutenant Colonel Dana served at MAWTS-1 in Yuma, Arizona; he then commanded MWSS-371 from May 2000-May 2002. Following command, Lieutenant Colonel Dana attended the Naval War College and was then assigned to III MEF in Okinawa. He served as the G-7/3D MEB Chief of Staff and III MEF Deputy G-3 during this tour. From December 2004 to July 2005 he served as the OIC of the MARCENT Coordination Element at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait and the MARCENT G-4. He took command of MWSG-37 in July of 2005 and commanded MWSG 37 FWD in Iraq from January 2006-January 2007.

   Colonel Dana then served on joint duty in the EUCOM J-5 from July 2007 to September 2008; his first tour as a Brigadier General was as the NORAD-NORTHCOM J-4 from November 2008 to June 2010. During this tour he deployed to Haiti in support of SOUTHCOM relief operations following the January 2010 earthquake.

Major General Dana is currently the Commanding General of the 2d Marine Logistics Group.

Col. Kenneth D. Enzor

Colonel Kenneth D. Enzor enlisted in the United States Army February 1974. Attaining the rank of sergeant, he served from July 1974 until the end of his enlistment in November 1977, as a rifleman and squad leader with the 1st Ranger Battalion 75th INF. He graduated from Georgia Southern Univer­sity in 1982 with a B.S. in Political Science. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant after graduating from the Officer Candidate School in November 1982.

Upon graduation from The Basic School in June 1983 and the Ground Supply Officers’ Course in October 1983, 2ndLt Enzor reported to the 1st Force Service Support Group, Camp Pendleton, CA, where he was assigned to 1st Supply Battalion. During this tour, he served as Supply Officer in the General Account of the Supported Activities Supply System Management Unit, as Supply Detachment Officer with Combat Service Support Detachment-18, as Officer-in-Charge, Material Issue Point-3, and as Supply Officer, Medical Logistics Company.

In July 1986, 1stLt Enzor was reassigned to the Blount Island Command, Jacksonville, FL, where he served as Inventory Coordinator, Quality Control Section, Maritime Prepositioned Ships. He was promoted to Captain in September 1986.

After graduating from Amphibious Warfare School in May 1990, Capt Enzor reported to the 3rd Marine Division, Okinawa, Japan, where he was assigned to the 12th Marine Regiment as the S-4A and Regimental Supply Officer. In June 1993, he was reassigned to Field Supply and Maintenance Analysis Office-1, Camp Lejeune, NC. Promoted to Major in September 1994, he served as Senior Supply Analyst until May 1996 when he reported to the 2D FSSG, Camp Lejeune, NC. Assigned to 2D Supply Battalion, he served as Commanding Officer Supply Company, as Commanding Officer, CSSD-27 for Combined Arms Exercise 3-4-98, and as Battalion Executive Officer.

After graduating from the Army Command and General Staff College in Ft. Leavenworth, K.S. June 1999, Maj Enzor reported to the Installations and Logistics Department, Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington, D.C., where he assumed duties as Head Material Policy Section, Logistics Plans and Policy Division. He was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel July 1999.

In June 2000, Lt.Col. Enzor transferred to 2d Force Service Support Group, Camp Lejeune, N.C., where he assumed command of 2d Maintenance Battalion. After graduating from the Naval War College in Newport, R.I., in June 2003, Lt. Col. Enzor was assigned as Chief, Logistics Agreement Office, Office of Defense Cooperation, U.S. Embassy, Oslo, Norway. He was promoted to Colonel October 2004. From June 2006 to June 2009, Col Enzor served as Commanding Officer, Marine Corps Logistics Base, Barstow, Calif.

Col. Enzor became the AC/S G-3 for the 2d MLG in July and was moved to his current billet, Chief of Staff for the MLG October 2009.

Col. Enzor’s additional formal military schools include, Ranger School, Basic Airborne School, the Jumpmaster Course, and Special Forces Military Freefall Course and the Joint Forces Staff College. Col Enzor holds an M.S. degree in Management from Saint Mary’s University in Leavenworth, K.S., and an M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, Newport, R.I.

His personal decorations include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with two gold stars, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star, Army Good Conduct Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal with two bronze stars.

Command Sergeant Major, Sergeant Major, 2nd Marine Logistics Group

Sgt. Maj. George W. Young Jr.

Sergeant Major Young entered the Marine Corps on April 4, 1985 and attended recruit training aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C.

    Upon completion of recruit training, he attended Assault Amphibian School at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif. After reporting for duty with 2d AAV Battalion, he deployed in support of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit with 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment as an AAV Crewchief to Europe and the Mediterranean. Upon returning he deployed to Okinawa, Japan, in 1988 as part of the Unit Deployment Program as a Section Leader where he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of sergeant.

    After receiving orders to MCRD Parris Island, S.C. in 1989, he attended Drill Instructor School and served as Drill Instructor and Senior Drill Instructor. Returning to 2nd AAV Battalion in 1992, Young deployed with 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment in support of the 24th MEU. After promotion to the rank of staff sergeant in 1993, he deployed to the Mediterranean with the 26th MEU with 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment as Section Leader.

Young was promoted to the rank of gunnery sergeant in 1997 and subsequently received orders to 3rd Marine Regiment and assumed duties as AAV Platoon Commander. During his tour with 3rd Marines, he deployed on two five-month WEST PAC deployments to the Far East as the Platoon Commander. Upon selection to the rank of first sergeant in 2001, he held assignments with Combat Assault Company, Military Police Instruction Company, Motor Transport Instruction Company and Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom III.

In 2005, Young was selected to his current rank, and served with 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment and deployed in support of OIF in 2006 and 2007-2008. In June 2008, he was transferred to Marine Aircraft Group 49 where he served as the Site Sergeant Major for HMLA-773. In January 2010, he reported to 2nd Marine Regiment, and deployed for a year to Northern Helmand province with Regimental Combat Team 2.

    Young assumed his current position as the command sergeant major for 2nd Marine Logistics Group in May 2012.

    Sgt. Maj. Young is an honor graduate of AAV Unit Leaders Course and the Staff Noncommissioned Officers Advance Course. His personal awards include
the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with four gold stars in lieu of fifth award and the Combat Action Ribbon.In 2009, he completed the Bachelor of Arts History with Columbia College, Missouri.

CMDCM Russell W. Folley

A native of St. Martinville, Louisiana, Command Master Chief Folley began his Naval Service in December 1986.  After completing basic training at Recruit Training Command,  San Diego, California, HM “A” school at Naval School of Health Sciences San Diego, California and Field Medical Service School at Camp Pendleton, California.

Command Master Chief Folley reported to Naval Hospital, Corpus Christi, TX for his first tour of duty.  His shore tours include:  Naval Medical Clinic New Orleans, Louisiana; Naval Experimental Diving Unit Panama City, Florida; Navy and Marine Corps Reserve Center St. Paul, Minnesota; Naval Medical Clinic Corpus Christi, TX.

Command Master Chief Folley's sea duty assignments include:  3rd BN 3rd Marines Kaneohe, HI; 2nd BN 8th Marines, 3rd BN 2nd Marines, 1st BN 8th Marines and 10th Marine Regiment Camp Lejeune, NC; Mine Countermeasures Avenger Class Ships (MCM’s) with MCM Crew Reaper on board the USS Sentry MCM-3, USS Gladiator MCM–11, USS Champion MCM - 4, and the USS Devastator MCM - 6 in San Diego, California.

Command Master Chief Folley is Enlisted Fleet Marine Force Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist qualified and a graduate of the Command Master Chief / Chief of the Boat course  and the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy.  His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Fifth award), Naval and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and service awards.
