Information Management Office 

  Information Management or IM is the collection and management of information from one or more sources and the distribution of that information to one or more audiences. Information management boils down to "Getting the right information to the right person at the right place at the right time and in the most correct format."

IM is the sum of all activities involved in capturing, storing, retrieving, representing, transferring, mining, displaying, protecting, and managing quality information to promote an understanding of the battlespace, which enables commanders to better formulate and analyze courses of action, make decisions, execute those decisions with adjustments to their plans as necessary, and accurately understand results from previously made decisions. IM focuses on providing quality information to support decision-making.
