Announcing the Marine Corps Association Foundation

The Marine Corps Association (MCA) is proud to introduce the Marine Corps Association Foundation (MCAF).

MCAF will not replace the Marine Corps Association; rather, the Foundation enables the Association to do an even better job of supporting Marines with their readiness issues as these requirements continue to evolve and expand. MCA will continue to publish the Marine Corps’ two professional magazines: The Marine Corps Gazette and Leatherneck Magazine.

Support from our members and the public will help us to sustain and develop programs to prepare our Marines to win our nation’s battles by:

*Supporting and enhancing MCA’s awards programs (over 8,670 Marines received professional recognition from MCA’s awards program in 2008)

*Providing professional reading libraries for units

*Sending copies of Leatherneck and the Marine Corps Gazette to wounded Marines to keep them in touch with the Corps while they convalesce

*Funding professional development programs for Marines and their units

*Funding emerging requirements to support Marines from recruitment through active duty and after release to veteran Marine status

*And assisting the Marine Corps with other programs and activities for which it cannot use appropriated funds

MCA constantly receives requests and appeals from Marines and Marine unit commanders for funding or support for worthwhile programs or projects that clearly fall within the mission of MCA. Now, with our foundation’s status as a 501(c)(3) public charitable foundation, we’ll be able to attract more contributions from sources in both the public and private sectors, thereby permitting MCA and the Foundation, together, to more fully honor requests for program support from Marines.

All funds raised by the Marine Corps Association Foundation will be used to fund programs and activities that support those United States Marines who are or have recently been in harm’s way in the defense of our way of life or are in training for that mission.

This means:

*Donations to MCAF are now tax-deductible.

*Parents, family members, Marine Corps supporters are all eligible to join the foundation.

* Corporations may become Corporate Members to support events or programs for Marines.

*Marines can join MCA and/or the Marine Corps Association Foundation. It’s their choice.

*Sponsorships of our events for Marines now qualify for tax-deductions.
