Authorized departure from the island of Honshu, Japan 

Command sponsored family members from the U.S. Embassy Tokyo, Foreign Service Installation Yokohama and Consulate Nagoya, located on the island of Honshu, Japan are authorized to voluntarily depart to the U.S., the designated safe haven.

The authorized departure of eligible family members was approved on March 17, 2011 and is for a period not to exceed 30 days. Command sponsored family members choosing to leave may not return until the authorized departure is terminated.

Travel to the island of Honshu for all Department of Defense dependent personnel in all categories is suspended until the Department of State terminates the authorized departure.
