The Mission...

...of 2d Air-Naval Gunfire Liaison Company is to provide Marine Air Ground Task Force Commanders a liaison capability with foreign area expertise to plan, coordinate, employ and conduct terminal control of fires in support of joint, allied and coalition forces.


Translation

Our teams provide direct support to the various Joint, Allied, Coalition and Special Operations forces working within Marine Corps battlespace and conduct the coordination and deconfliction required in order for their commanders to access Marine Corps close air support, artillery, rockets and naval gunfire.

2d ANGLICO Marines take part in Operation Omid Shash

CAMP LEATHERNECK, Afghanistan – Marines and sailors with Second Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company   have been supporting several U.S. and coalition units in Helmand province with their unique ability to coordinate tactics on the ground with aviation and other supporting arms assets since arriving in Afghanistan in November.

During Operation Omid Shash, 2nd ANGLICO Marines provided coalition and Afghan National Army units maneuvering through the area of operation access to virtually any aviation asset “on station” for intelligence gathering or, if need arose, decisive firepower to defeat Taliban insurgents. 
 

5th ANGLICO transfers authority to 2d ANGLICO 

CAMP LEATHERNECK, Afghanistan – Second Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company assumed command of all ANGLICO operations throughout Helmand province during a transfer of authority ceremony here, Dec. 3.

Lt. Col. Louis Palazzo, 5th ANGLICO commanding officer, transferred his authority to Lt. Col. Leland Suttee, who now serves as the 2nd ANGLICO commanding officer.
