Mr. Ronald J. Davis, Jr. is the Assistant Deputy Commandant, Installations and Logistics, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps, in Washington DC. He was assigned to this position in September 2010. He oversees all Marine Corps logistics, installations, contracting policy, business process improvement and small business operations.

Mr. Davis was promoted to Senior Executive Service in June of 2004. Over his 29 year career, Mr. Davis has held a wide variety of positions across the Defense Department. His first assignments were in a number of maintenance and design engineering positions for the U.S. Navy in Jacksonville, FL and Norfolk, VA. From there he moved to the Chief Engineer, Supervisor of Shipbuilding, United States Navy, New Orleans, LA. Then he moved to Deputy Supervisor of Shipbuilding, United States Navy, Pascagoula, MS. From March 2004 to June 2004 he was the Acting Director, Supervisor of Shipbuilding Management Group (04X), Headquarters, Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, DC.

Prior to coming to the Marine Corps, Mr. Davis served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Business Transformation, G-4/7/9, Headquarters, U.S. Army Materiel Command. His responsibilities included AMC-wide facilities, environmental stewardship, Base Realignment and Closure, industrial operations, industrial base policy, partnerships with industry, programs for continuous improvement including Lean Six Sigma and supply management. He previously served as the Deputy G-3 for Industrial Operations, Headquarters, U.S. Army Materiel Command.

Mr. Davis received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He later entered graduate school at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University and was awarded a Master of Science degree in National Resource Strategy. While at the National Defense University he was honored as a Distinguished Academic Graduate.

His training includes Joint Executive Development Course, UNC; General Officer Senior Commander Course for Installation Management, Army Management Staff College; Lean Six Sigma Executive Green Belt; and Senior Acquisition Course, ACQ 401.

Mr. Davis is a Certified Level III Acquisition Professional in Systems Planning, Research, Development and Engineering and Life Cycle Logistics career fields.
