Mission Statement
A subordinate element of Marine Wing Support Group 47, Marine Wing Support Squadron 473 is organized to provide all essential Aviation Ground Support requirements to designated fixed-wing and rotary-wing components of an Aviation Combat Element (ACE), and supporting attached elements of the Marine Air Control Group.
Marine Wing Support Squadron 473 is made up of three detachments:
Detachment (-) is located on MCAS Miramar California and is the command deck for the Squadron as well as the home training center (HTC) for Airfield Operations Company and Headquarters and Support Company.
Detachment (A) is located in Lemoore California and is the HTC for Motor Transport Company.
Detachment (B) is located in Forth Worth Texas and is the HTC for Engineer Company.
