
Lieutenant Colonel Lindell L.Holm
Lieutenant Colonel Holm was born in Moorhead, MN. He attended the University of Minnesota receiving his degree in Political Science and was commissioned through Naval ROTC as a Second Lieutenant in 1988. Upon completion of The Basic School and the Aviation Maintenance Officer’s Course in Pensacola, FL, he became the Officer In Charge of Airframes and Aviation Life Support Systems divisions at Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 13 in Yuma, AZ. In 1991, 1st Lt Holm applied for and was accepted to Naval Aviator training in Pensacola, FL earning his wings of gold in 1992. He reported to HMT-302 at MCAS Tustin, CA and, upon completion of training in the CH-53E Super Stallion, Captain Holm was assigned to HMH-462 as a squadron pilot and the Officer In Charge of Flightline Division. He completed a deployment to Okinawa, Japan and in 1995 volunteered to be a Forward Air Controller. He deployed with 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines aboard the USS New Orleans with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable). Returning to the cockpit, Captain Holm became the Rotary-Wing Frag Officer at Third Marine Aircraft Wing at El Toro, CA. He served in this capacity until October 1998 when he transferred to Marine Wing Support Squadron 374 to serve as the Expeditionary Airfields Officer.
In September 1999, Captain Holm left active duty and was transferred to the Marine Reserves where he augmented the G-3 Staff of the First Marine Division. Simultaneously, he was pursuing graduate course work in Christian Apologetics at Biola University and graduated with "highest honors" in December 2001. In 2002, Major Holm was accepted into the Active Reserve program and transferred to HMH-769 at Edwards Air Force Base in California. There, he re-qualified in the CH-53E and served as the Maintenance Officer, the Director of Safety and Standardization, and the Executive Officer. Major Holm deployed to Afghanistan with HMH-769 as a part of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2004.
In 2006, he reported to the Office of Legislative Affairs at Headquarters Marine Corps and was later assigned to the support staff of the President’s Commission on Care for America’s Returning Wounded. Upon termination of the Commission in July 2007, LtCol Holm accepted the position of Legislative Review Officer at the Wounded Warrior Regiment in Quantico, VA.
Currently, LtCol Holm is the Site Commander for Marine Wing Support Group 47 at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Mt. Clemens, MI.
