Cherry Point Community Relations assist with a variety of requests including:
Tours: Windshield Tours are offered when the number of visitors is minimal and take approximately an hour. This type of tour allows visitors to view the base beginning at the front gate, going through the entire base, pointing our areas of interest along the way with a guide. Due to limited personnel assigned to Community Relations, arrangements for these tours need to be made at least a week in advance to ensure date and time availability.

Tours for larger groups: Tours for larger groups can also be arranged; however, these types of tours require significantly more coordination. Arrangements for these tours need to be made at least 30 days in advance.

Volunteers: Marines, Sailors and DoD personnel aboard Cherry Point are encouraged to volunteer to help the community. If you have an event that you would like to submit for volunteers, please forward to Community Relations. Please be sure to submit request to allow adequate time for volunteers to make arrangements with unit if necessary.

Guest Speakers: If you would like a guest speaker for an event, please submit request at least 30 days in advance. Please include any specifics regarding the speaker (e.i., Marine that has just returned from deployment, officer or enlisted, male or female.) so we can locate a speaker that fits the request. Additional information that would be helpful is any specific topic or length of time speaker will need to fill.

Color Guards: Color Guards are submitted through the Public Affairs Office, however, they are channeled to the Station and Wing Sergeants Major for assignment. Determination for support will be made by the office upon receipt.

Please remember, there are certain restrictions regarding military support for various events. Acceptable requests will be considered in support of events that are open to the public. The United States Marine Corps may support events which are open to the public, and cannot take part in programs that appear to benefit or favor any private individual, special interest group, business, religion, ideology, commercial venture, political candidate or organization.

In order to request one of the above, please create an email with all pertinent information regarding the event. This would include:

WHO: Name of sponsor/requester for the event
WHAT: (Type of request, i.e., Tour, Color Guard, etc.)
WHEN: Date of the event; time of the event, length of the event
WHERE: Location of the event
WHY: Please provide as much additional information (i.e., number of visitors, ages, special needs) that would assist the Community Relations with coordinating your request.

Once completed, send the request to Cherry Point Community Relations at Community Relations, or fax it to (252) 466-5201.

*A Cherry Point Community Relations Specialist will contact you within 7 working days.
