LtCol Rose Bio photoLieutenant Colonel Presto was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on 16 November 1969.  He graduated from Old Dominion University in December of 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant through the Platoon Leader Class Program.  He entered The Basic School in May of 1992 and upon completion, reported to Pensacola for initial flight training.  Following his designation as a Naval Aviator in September of 1995, First Lieutenant Presto reported to HMT-204, 2d MAW for CH-46E replacement aircrew training.

In May of 1996 he reported to HMM-262, Okinawa, Japan and served as the Flightline Officer and Intelligence Officer.  In October of 1997 he reported to MAG-36 and served on the staff as the Information Systems Officer and Assistant Logistics Officer.  During this period Captain Presto participated in Cobra Gold exercises in Thailand and Foal Eagle exercises in South Korea.

He reported to HMM-265 in October of 1998 and served as a Schedule Writer, the Airframes Officer, and the Director of Safety and Standardization.  He deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Desert Fox and to East Timor in support of Operation Stabilize.

During August of 2000 he reported to Quantico, Virginia to attend the Amphibious Warfare School.  Following graduation in May 2001, Major Presto served as the India Company Commander in the Platoon Leader Class program at Officer Candidates School, Quantico, Virginia.

In October of 2001 Major Presto reported to the 'Red Dragons' of HMM-268 and served as the Administration Officer, the Director of Safety and Standardization, and the Operations Officer.  From January to September 2003 he deployed to Kuwait and flew missions in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He began the Marine Corps Command and Staff College, Quantico, Virginia in August of 2004.  Following graduation Major Presto reported to HMX-1 in May of 2005 and served as the Special Projects Officer, the Administration Officer, and the In-Service Presidential Helicopter Programs Test Director.  He was designated a White House Helicopter Aircraft Commander in the VH-3D and VH-60N and flew missions in support of the President and Vice-President.

LtCol Presto reported to MCAS Miramar in May of 2009 to serve as the Training Officer in Operations Department, leading Marines and civilians on East Miramar Training Ranges, at Station Combat Camera and at the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Section.

His personal decorations include the Distinguish Flying Cross w/Valor, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal w/ numeral "7", and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
