Weapons Training Battalion

Sergeant Major 

1stSgt Hollingsworth joined the Marine Corps in May of 1991.  He Reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego in July 1991.  Upon graduation he reported to his primary engineer school aboard Camp Lejeune for assignment as a 1371 Combat Engineer.  PFC Hollingsworth graduated and received orders to Marine Wing Support Squadron 271, Cherry Point North Carolina, while he was serving as a Combat Engineer; he participated in numerous detachments and Joint Task Force operations.

In May 1996, Sgt Hollingsworth reported to Naval Air Maintenance Training Detachment for primary MOS training and assignment as a 6114, AH1 and UH1 Mechanic.  Upon graduation, Sgt Hollingsworth reported to HMLA 269 aboard New River Marine Corps Air Station, North Carolina.  While serving as a Flight Line Mechanic, Sgt Hollingsworth participated in numerous weapons training and Combat Arm Exercises.  In 1998 while assigned to HMM162 (Rein), Sgt Hollingsworth participated in Operations Balkan Calm, Autumn Shelter, and Albania Sec Mission US Embassy.

In 1999, SSgt Hollingsworth received orders to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island South Carolina, for duty as a student at Drill Instructor School.  Upon completion of DI School, SSgt Hollingsworth was assigned as a Drill Instructor and a Senior Drill Instructor for Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, and a Weapons and Field Training Instructor.  While working as a Weapons and Field Training Instructor, SSgt Hollingsworth attended the Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructors Course.

In 2003, SSgt Hollingsworth received orders to HMLA 167, Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina for assignment as Division Chief for Flight Line Division.  In 2004, GySgt Hollingsworth participated in OIF 2-1.

In November 2004, GySgt Hollingsworth received orders to Staff Noncommisioned Officer Academy, where he served as a Faculty Advisor and Chief Faculty Advisor for both Career Course and Advance Course.  In 2007, GySgt Hollingsworth received orders back to HMLA167 to serve as a Maintenance Controller, where he paricipated in Desert Talon.

In 2008, 1stSgt Hollingsworth received orders to 1st Battalion 11th Marines, Los Pulgas Camp Pendleton California, to serve as a Battery 1stSgt for Charlie Battery and Headquarters Battery.  In 2010, 1stSgt Hollingsworth participated in OEF 1-0.

In November 2010, 1stSgt Hollingsworth received orders to Headquarters and Support Battalion, Camp Lejeune North Carolina, to serve as Company 1stSgt for Security Company.

In October 2011, 1stSgt Hollingsworth was assigned to Weapons Training Battalion, Stone Bay North Carolina, where he currently serves as the Battalion Sergeant Major.

1stSgt Hollingsworth's personal awards consist of the Navy Commendation Medal, and the Navy Achievement Medal with a Gold Star in lieu of second award.
