1. Ensure the Marine has read MCO P1326.6D chapter 4, Appendix G, H, I, & J.
2. Before calling and scheduling an interview ensure that the Phase I (Commanding Officers Screening Checklist) and the Financial Worksheet have been completed and signed by the CO & SgtMaj. PLEASE HAVE THE CO PUT COMMENTS ABOUT THE MARINE IN THE APPROPRIATE SECTION!

3. Inform your command and all Marines the dates, locations and times of the next MSG Brief and Screening. When reporting, the uniform of the day will be Service “B” or “C” (Seasonal). In person interviews please ensure the Marine has in their possession:
- Appendix C: Commanding Officer's Screening/Interview Guide-Marine Security Guard Duty. (must be signed by the Commanding Officer and Sergeant Major before they can be screened).
- Appendix F: Commanding Officer's Financial Worksheet. (must be signed by the Commanding Officer (CO) before they can be screened).
- Copy of JPAS (Joint Personal Adjudication Summery) or a letter from the Security Manager (S-2) showing the date their Secret clearance was adjudicated or found eligible.
- Service Record Book (SRB)
- Security Letter or JPAS printout
- Basic Individual Record (BIR)/Basic Training Record (BTR)
- Health/Dental Record
4. If a visit is not scheduled for your base, call the MSG Screening Team for a telephonic interview between 0800-1600 (EST) and ensure the Marine has all the required items above.
**NOTE**
BEFORE SNCOs CAN BE SCREENED BY PHONE, YOU MUST EMAIL THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
- • Photo in Service “B” or “C” (Seasonal) - (If deployed “Cammies” with blouse removed).
- Green on Green PT gear.
- A photo of each tattoo with description, location, and size (If applicable).
5. Once the Marine has been screened by the MSG Screening Team in person or telephonically, ensure the package has a completed MSG Checklist (Appendix C) Phases I and II and the Financial Worksheet (Appendix F) plus all of the additional information required before the message is sent via TFRS to HQMC.
6. Ensure that the Marine contacts the Security Manager’s office, MCESG (703) 784-4843 in order to verify and/or initiate a security clearance.
7. Once approved by the individual Marine’s MOS Monitor, the MSG Monitor will process orders and assign a class date.
