MCESG - How to Prepare for MSG School
Physical:
To better prepare yourself for MSG Duty ensure you are staying in shape and be ready to pass an initial PFT once you report to school. You will also do a final PFT as well as the CFT.
Professional Military Education (PME):
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
1. Complete PME requirements for grade to include non-resident MCI’s as well as resident courses such as Corporal’s Course, Sergeant’s Course, and appropriate SNCO courses if possible (You will not be able to complete these resident courses while on the program).
2. Recommended additional MCIs (PFC – *MGySgt)
Leading Marines
Terrorism Awareness
Math for Marines
Personal Finance
Semper Fit
CBRN
*SNCOs (only):
1. Range Safety Officer’s course on Marine Net will be required to be completed before graduation from MSG School for all Detachment Commander Students. If you have it completed before you report it is one less requirement to worry about.
