Deputy Commander 

Colonel Naylor graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. Degree in

Agriculture in May 1980. He entered OCS in February 1982 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in April 1982. He was designated a Naval Aviator in September 1983. Colonel Naylor was promoted to his current rank in June 2004.

Colonel Naylor's assignments include tours of duty with Naval Air Training Command NAS Pensacola, VT-3, HT-18, HMT-301, HMM-268/11th and 13th MEUs, HMM-265/4th MEB, MAWTS-1, HMX-1, 3rdMAW, MAG-39, HMM(T)-164, the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Headquarters Marine Corps Programs and Resources, Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Atlantic, Joint Forces Command, and Marine Corps Installations West (MCIWEST).

Colonel Naylor deployed from MAWTS-1 with HMM-265 for Operations Desert Storm/Desert Shield as a part of 4th MEB aboard the USS Tripoli and USS Tarawa from December 1990 to March 1991. He conducted the first two operational tests of the V-22 in addition to executive flight detachment duties, flying the President and Vice President of the United States as well as other dignitaries while assigned to HMX-1 from 1992 to 1996. Colonel Naylor assumed command of HMM(T)-164 from June 2000 to June 2002. He earned a Master of Science Degree in National Defense Resource Strategy from the National Defense University, Industrial College of the Armed Forces in June 2003. He was then assigned to HQMC P&R as the Head of Program Assessment and later as the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Commandant for Programs and Resources from 2003 to 2005. Colonel Naylor assumed command of EWTGLANT from June 2005 to June 2007. He was then assigned as the Deputy Chief of Staff of Joint Forces Command and U.S. National Liaison representative to NATO Supreme Allied Command Transformation from July 2007 to July 2009.

Colonel Naylor was assigned to MCIWEST as the Assistant Chief of Staff G-3/Director of Operations from August 2009 until January 2011, at which time he assumed his current duties as the MCIWEST Deputy Commander.

Colonel Naylor has accumulated over 4900 total flight hours in various rotary wing, tilt-rotor, and fixed wing aircraft (CH-46, CH-53, H-1, H-3, H-60, V-22, C-130, F-5, F/A-18D).

His personal decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit w/Gold Star, Meritorious Service Medal w/Gold Star, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Presidential Service Badge as well as numerous campaign medals and unit awards.
