Colonel Terry V. Williams
Commanding Officer
A graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles, Colonel Williams was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps in 1986. In 1987, he attended the Basic School and received an Engineer Officer MOS.

In 1988, after attending the Marine Corps Basic Engineer Course, 2ndLt. Williams was assigned to 3rd Combat Engineer Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, Okinawa, Japan. During this period, he served as a Platoon and Company Commander. In 1989, 1stLt. Williams was reassigned as a Series Officer, MCRD San Diego, Calif., 1st Recruit Training Battalion, where he also served as Battalion Adjutant and Personnel Officer. He was promoted to captain in 1991.
After a successful tour on the drill field, Capt. Williams was assigned to G-4, 2d Marine Aircraft Wing (2d MAW), Cherry Point, N.C., as the Engineer Officer where he deployed to Dade County, Fla., to support hurricane relief operations as a Marine liaison to Joint Task Force Andrew in 1992. During his tour at 2d MAW, Capt. Williams also served as the Operations (S-3), Logistics (S-4) and Engineer Division Officer for Marine Wing Support Squadron 274. In addition, Capt. Williams served as the Ground Operations Officer in the S-3 for Headquarters, Marine Wing Support Group 27.
In 1994 Capt. Williams attended the U.S. Army Advance Engineer School. Upon completing the course, Capt. Williams was assigned to 8th Engineer Support Battalion, 2d FSSG Camp Lejeune N.C., where he served as a Company Commander, Battalion Logistics Officer and Operations Officer. He was promoted to major in 1997.
From 1997-1998, Maj. Williams attended the Naval Command and General Staff College, Newport, Rhode Island. Upon graduation, Maj. Williams attended the Joint Staff College in Norfolk, Va., and subsequently reported to the Engineering Division, U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM) where he was assigned the duties of Engineer Action Officer and deployed to Australia and East Timor as part of International Forces East Timor (INTERFET). In 2000, Maj. Williams was selected to serve as the Aide-de-Camp for the commander, USPACOM. In 2002, Maj. Williams was promoted to lieutenant colonel and assigned to Marine Corps Detachment at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, for duty as Detachment Executive Officer.
From 2003 to 2005, LtCol. Williams was assigned as the Commanding Officer, 8th Engineer Support Battalion. During this tour he deployed to Haiti in 2004 as the Commanding Officer of Combat Service Support Detachment 20 in support of OPERATION SECURE TOMORROW, and in 2005 to Iraq with his battalion in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM.
In 2006 LtCol. Williams attended the National War College in Washington D.C. Upon graduation he was assigned to Allied Command Transformation, Staff Element Europe as a Logistics Defense Planning Officer for NATO. During this assignment, LtCol. Williams deployed to Afghanistan where he served as Branch Head, Directorate for Afghan National Army Training and Equipping Support (DATES), Headquarters International Security Assistance Forces, NATO. LtCol. Williams was promoted to colonel in January 2008. He was reassigned to Headquarters Marine Corps, Installations & Logistics Department, Arlington, Virginia, in July 2008 where he served as the Operations Officer for the Facilities and Services Division (LF) until June 2009. Colonel Williams assumed his current duties as the Commanding Officer, Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, Ga., on June 26, 2009, where he continues to serve.
Col. Williams’ personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal with oak leaf, the Meritorious Service Medal with two gold stars, the Joint Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Humanitarian Service Medal with two bronze stars.
